Why leading paint manufacturers choose us?

Our portfolio is designed to meet high-jetness, high-gloss, matt-finish, and UV-resistant coating requirements across automotive, industrial, and architectural markets. We pioneered the J.U.G. principle — Jetness, Undertone, and Gloss — which defines how our products consistently outperform in key visual and performance metrics. Jetness–Undertone–Gloss (JUG) principles

AUTO COAT – UV-Optimized High Jetness for Automotive Coatings

Deepest mass-tone black and proven UV durability for OEM exterior and refinish systems.

AUTO COAT is designed for automotive OEM and refinish paints, delivering outstanding UV protection and deep jetness for long-lasting, fade-resistant finishes on vehicles. These pigments disperse easily, reducing mixing time, and enhance paint durability to meet rigorous OEM standards.

AUTO COAT has been tested under ASTM G53 UVB conditions (400 hours), achieving Grey Scale 5 color stability—making it ideal for long-term exterior automotive exposure.

Comparison: In internal tests, Auto Coat achieved similar jetness to a leading competitor grade (FW200) at 72% lower cost, offering equal performance at a fraction of the cost.

JET COAT – Ultra-Jet Finish for Premium and Piano Black Applications

Ultra-high jetness and exceptional surface smoothness for luxury finishes.

JET COAT is our highest-jetness pigment for general industrial and architectural coatings. It provides an exceptionally deep black mass tone with a subtle blue undertone, ensuring rich and consistent color intensity. Jet Coat features excellent dispersion characteristics for uniform color without extensive milling, making it ideal for tinting systems that demand ultra-high jetness.

COAT G – High-Gloss Specialty Black for Industrial & Automotive Coatings

Balanced jetness, strong gloss, and excellent dispersion for premium-quality surfaces.

COAT G is optimized for high-gloss coatings, formulated to maximize gloss and surface smoothness. It achieves a deep black color with lower oil absorption, allowing formulators to reach a mirror-like finish without sacrificing dispersion ease. Coat G outperforms conventional grades, yielding significantly darker (lower L value) color at equal loadings for unparalleled gloss and depth.

COAT M – Matt-Finish Specialty Black for Low-Sheen Coatings

Controlled undertone and consistent dispersion for matt and powder coating systems.

COAT M is engineered for ultra-matte coatings, producing a uniform low-gloss appearance while still delivering a rich black tone. It allows formulators to achieve very low gloss levels without the high pigment loadings typically required with standard carbon blacks. Coat M offers improved dispersion, reducing grinding time and improving stability in matte formulations.

Benefit : Coat M attained comparable jetness at a significantly lower gloss level than conventional matte-grade blacks, allowing formulators to create true matte finishes previously unattainable.

Conductive and Plastics Applications

Leveraging our surface chemistry expertise, ICI is extending its portfolio to conductive carbon blacks for plastics and rubbers. These specialty grades (currently in development) will offer reliable electrostatic dissipation (ESD) for electronics packaging and automotive components, as well as UV protection for plastic films and fibers.
Our upcoming conductive blacks are ultra-pure (low impurity) to maintain polymer strength and provide premium UV resistance to extend product life. We understand the key needs in plastics compounding – cleanliness, consistency, and conductivity – and are developing solutions to meet them.
